A thing you see in my pictures is that I was not afraid to fall in love with these people.

Annie Leibovitz said this not long ago and I feel these words very deeply. At its core, photography is storytelling. It’s borrowing a moment in time and capturing the essence of the people and the emotion in the frame. I feel like I’ve been taking pictures all my life. In 2003, shortly after graduating from college, I was gifted my first professional-caliber camera and I took off on a backpacking adventure throughout Europe. Many, many years later, I’ve honed my craft and now get paid to take pictures. My work has been published in national publications and I’ve taught many aspects of photography to more than 5,000 people worldwide. Born in Indiana, raised in Florida, a decade spent in Washington DC, and now more than twelve years in Atlanta, photography is the lens through which I experience the world.
Professionally, I bring a diverse background to the table. I have a bachelor’s degree from The George Washington University and a graduate degree from the University of Florida. I started my career in politics working on the Hill for a US Senator. After earning my graduate degree in international business, I transitioned to communications. I’m currently working as a marketing director and graphic designer while continuing to share my expertise in the field of photography via podcasts, blog posts, and magazine articles.
